If you’re already a subscriber, you’ve probably noticed that the Learn Piano Blues website has had a complete refresh. I hope members both old and new enjoy the new layout which is a little easier to navigate.
In addition to the new look, you’ll notice I’ve been busy adding some new videos to the course content, which will be a regular thing going forward. Some of the brand new additions to the Learn Piano Blues course include:
- Ray Charles – What’d I say (or ‘What I Say’) – a brand new six part piano tutorial for this blues classic.
- Jerry Lee Lewis – Great Balls of Fire – two piano tutorials, one covering the intro and one giving you a right hand to play the melody. You’ll notice that what was once the ‘Whole Lotta Shakin’ module is now the ‘Jerry Lee Lewis’ module and this is where these new piano tutorials sit.
- Advanced Right Hands – three new exciting tutorials for blues piano right hands which I’ve added to the Advanced module.
- Nora Jones – Don’t Know Why – a tutorial showing how to play this lovely intro. I’ll be making another tutorial shortly to show you how to play the main part of the song and the bridge.
- Blueberry Hill – two awesome tutorials, one with a simpler left hand and one with a more advanced left hand. Don’t be put off by the ‘beginner’ label – both sound amazing!
Here’s a quick preview of what you can learn in some of the newest piano tutorials – note that this video is not a tutorial but just shows some of what you’ll learn to play. What you see in the video is the end result of working through the latest tutorials, without any embellishments or additions – this is exactly what you’ll learn to play. Each of the tutorial videos themselves break everything down into small steps so that anyone can follow them, regardless of whether you’ve played the piano before or not:
I’m super excited about all the latest videos and hope that you really enjoy these expansions to my blues piano course. If you’re just joining, remember that there’s lots more besides the above – with 58 videos to work through, all presented in a modular format so you can combine the left hands, right hands, bridges and endings as you choose.
I’m working on a lot more material at the moment, including a techniques module, more classic blues songs, some contemporary numbers and an improvisation module. Subscribers get all new videos included in their subscription fee which is just £19.99 for a full six months’ access.
A couple of members have queried why the new tutorials don’t have sheet music like the old ones. I really do appreciate that some people love having the sheet music in front of them – however, it does take quite a long time to produce so I’m focusing my time at the moment on getting lots of new videos up on the site for you, and I’ll do my best to add in the sheet music at a (not too) later date.
If you have any more requests or suggestions do get in touch as your feedback is always very welcome!
